Timeline
16:00
Grab a cocktail at Hub. The happy hour runs from 17:00 to 19:00, so you can enjoy a discount while the light is still good. This basement pub is an 11-minute walk from Chinatown.
16:30
Walk down to Kobe Port Tower. It is a 10-minute stroll from the pub area. Head to the observatories to find a spot facing west. The tower is the unofficial symbol of the city and offers a clear view of the horizon.
17:10
Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The sky will turn orange and pink over the bay. Stay for the last light as the city lights begin to flicker on below.
17:40
End the evening at Torikizoku. This popular yakitori chain is just a short walk from the tower. It is best to arrive before 7:30 PM to avoid a long queue. The skewers are cheap and delicious, perfect for a late bite after the chill of the harbor wind.
Local tip
Torikizoku is always busy. If the line is too long, consider heading to New Muenchen Kobe Taishikan (8 minutes from Chinatown) for a sit-down beer hall experience that is open until 23:00.
