Timeline
15:00
Grab a drink at Ye Olde White Harte. It is one of the old town's historic pubs, and the upstairs plotting parlor is where city elders once met. The hours are Mo-Sa 08:30-20:00, so you have plenty of time before sunset.
15:20
Walk to The Charterhouse. Tucked away in a conservation area, this site was founded in 1350. While the main building is only open annually during Heritage Weekend, the Chapel holds a service from 10AM to 11AM on Sundays, and the exterior offers a quiet pause before the main event.
16:10
Watch the sunset. On January 15, the sun sets at 16:10 toward the SW. The Charterhouse sits in a position where you can feel the day end in this historic spot.
16:30
End the evening at Ye Olde Black Boy. As one of Hull's oldest pubs, it is a fitting place to stay as night falls. It is open until 23:00.
Local tip
The Charterhouse is open to the public once a year during Hull's Heritage Weekend. On Sundays, the Chapel service runs from 10AM to 11AM. Check the route if you need to navigate from the pub to the site.
