Walk seven minutes west to St Canice's Cathedral & Round Tower. Find a spot near the Round Tower to face southwest. At 19:41, the golden light begins to wash over the 9th-century stone and the cathedral walls. The sun sets toward the WNW shortly after, casting long shadows across the grounds.

Walk back six minutes to The Pumphouse. The pub is lively after sunset, and you can watch the live sport or simply enjoy the atmosphere as the evening settles in.
Local tip
The Pumphouse can be very busy on weekends. If you prefer a quieter start, consider going earlier in the week.
