Timeline

  1. 16:34

    CoffeeMoose

Start with a coffee at CoffeeMoose. The atmosphere is quiet and perfect for settling in before the evening rush. The café serves breakfast foods and various coffees at a reasonable price.

  2. 16:49

    Kamoli Khujandi Park and Museum

Walk southeast to Kamoli Khujandi Park and Museum. This 16-minute stroll takes you away from the main roads. Explore the mausoleum-like building, the reconstructed house of poet Kamol Khujandi, and the wooden-carved music stages. The springs and greenery provide a calm buffer before the sunset.

  3. 17:19

    Somoni Park

Head east to Somoni Park. The 15-minute walk brings you to the right bank of the Syr Darya. Stand on the hilltop where the monument to Ismail Somoni overlooks the river. This is your vantage point. The sun sets toward the WNW (in winter) or WSW (in summer), casting golden light over the fountains and the water. Note that the fountains are periodically drained, so check if they are running.

  4. 17:39

    Victory Park

Walk northwest to Victory Park. As the light fades, the park transforms into an amusement area for locals. It is home to the giant Lenin statue and memorials to those who fought in World War II. The evening energy here is vibrant, offering a stark contrast to the quiet of the riverbank.

Local tip

The walk from the river to Victory Park is about 20 minutes northwest. If you prefer a quicker end to the evening, you can skip the park and head straight for dinner at Panda (13-minute walk from Victory Park), which is open until 22:00.
