Timeline

  1. 18:35

    Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar

Pick up a smoothie from Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar. It is open until 21:00 on weekends, so it will be ready for your pre-sunset stop.

  2. 19:25

    Prentice Hall

Walk to Prentice Hall. The residence hall features a supermarket and a dining room, but the real draw is the exterior light. Arrive early enough to find a spot on the grounds where the setting sun hits the building’s facade. The sun sets toward the WNW, aligning well with the view from the N side of the building.

  3. 20:05

    Prentice Hall

Watch the sunset. The golden light begins around 19:28 and the sun dips below the horizon at 20:05. This is the moment for photos and quiet observation.

  4. 20:35

    Rosie's Rations

End the evening with a late-night bite at Rosie's Rations. As Kent State's Late Night Diner, it is open 22 hours a day (closing briefly 4AM-6AM), making it the perfect spot for a cheap, quick meal after the sun goes down.

Local tip

The walk from the Student Center area to Prentice Hall takes about 8 minutes. If you start from the bookstore, it is only 2 minutes away, but you will need to cross campus to reach the hall. Check the route if you are unfamiliar with the campus layout.
