Timeline
09:00
Enter the Kenosha Public Museum as it opens. The lower level houses a large mammoth skeleton and the upper level features an art gallery. Arriving at opening time ensures the space is quiet and you can explore the taxidermy menagerie without the midday rush.
09:45
Walk eight minutes to Franks Diner for lunch. Located in a historic 1920s diner car, it serves homemade food. Be prepared for waits, especially on weekends, but the quality makes the time spent standing in line worth it.
10:30
Head eight minutes northeast to the Kenosha North Pierhead Light. This red tower stands as a sibling to the Milwaukee Pierhead Light. It is a short, pleasant walk from the dining area to see this historic landmark against the lake.
Local tip
The museum is free to enter. Franks Diner can get busy, so if you arrive right at 9:00 AM at the museum, you will have plenty of time to digest before hitting the diner at 9:45 AM.
