Arrive at Guhyeshwari Temple before the crowds thicken. The site is one of the Shakti Peethas of Nepal and is considered auspicious for Shakti devotees. Use the quiet time before sunset to explore the grounds and find a good vantage point for the evening light.
17:20
Walk to the Garden of Dreams to watch the sun go down. This beautifully renovated walled garden is close to Thamel and the former Royal Palace. It offers a peaceful, enclosed space to relax as the golden light fades and the city lights begin to turn on.
17:50
Head to Thamel House Restaurant for dinner. It serves Nepali and Newari cuisine. There is a cultural show every evening from 19:00, which fits perfectly after sunset on 15 January (17:30). The restaurant is open until 21:30.
18:30
Finish the night with a drink at Chikusa Café. It serves Nepali coffee, milk tea, sandwiches, and crêpes. Strawberry lassi is a speciality. The café is located very close to the Garden of Dreams and is a short walk from Thamel House.
