Timeline

  1. 06:58

    Frere Hall

Walk to Frere Hall. This historic Venetian Gothic building offers a clear, elevated view of the skyline to the west. Arrive before the sun breaks the horizon to secure a good spot and avoid the mid-morning heat.

  2. 07:18

    Frere Hall

Watch the sunrise. The sun rises in the east, but the key moment is the golden light hitting the 140-foot Christian cross at Gora Qabaristan (visible to the WSW from this angle) as the sky brightens. The contrast between the yellowish Karachi limestone of Frere Hall and the rising light is striking.

  3. 07:38

    Cinnamon Lounge

Head to Cinnamon Lounge for coffee. Located just a short walk from Frere Hall, this 24/7 café is perfect for an early morning break. Order a coffee and a dessert to start your day comfortably.

Local tip

Frere Hall is a popular spot, so arrive at least 20 minutes before sunrise to find a good vantage point. The café is open all night, so no need to worry about opening hours.
