Timeline

  1. 16:44

    Blue Door Cafe

Grab a bite at Blue Door Cafe. It is just a short walk from the temple and open until 22:00, so you have plenty of time to eat before the light changes.

  2. 17:24

    Govind Devji Temple

Walk to Govind Devji Temple. This is the most important temple for Vaishnavites in the world after Vrindavan. The campus is the same as the City Palace, and the idol is said to look exactly like Krishna’s form on Earth. Spend this time soaking in the atmosphere before the crowds arrive for the sunset view.

  3. 17:54

    Iswari Minar Swarga Sal

Head to Iswari Minar Swarga Sal. It is only a 9-minute walk from the temple towards the SSW. This minaret offers great views of Jaipur as the sun sets toward the WSW. If the minaret is closed, just cross the road to Chandpol Bazaar where there is a shopping complex with stairs that provide a similar vantage point.

  4. 18:39

    Ram Niwas Garden

End your evening at Ram Niwas Garden. Built in 1868, this garden contains several cafes and picnic spots. It is a 26-minute walk from the viewing spot, so you might want to check the route or take a short ride. It is a serene place to digest your meal and watch the city lights come on.

Local tip

The golden light starts at 17:20. If you want to see the sun set toward the WSW, aim to be at the minaret by 17:54. Blue Door Cafe is open until 22:00, so you can linger after your meal. Ram Niwas Garden is a large park, so wear comfortable shoes for the walk.

Check before you go
