Walk west into Gülhane Park to find your vantage point. The park is adjacent to the palace grounds and offers open space away from the crowds.

Stand in the park and watch the sun set toward the WSW. The light fades quickly after 18:00, so arrive early to settle in.

Head to Palatium Cafe & Restaurant for a drink and to lounge in the bean-bag chairs as the evening sets in.
Local tip
The park can get grubby, so keep an eye on your belongings. If you prefer tea over coffee, Sarayburnu Aile Çay Bahçesi is open until 03:00 and offers great views, though it is further away.
