    Grab a drink at Kafe Lake View. It opens at 09:00, so you have plenty of time to settle in before heading up the hill.

    Kek Lok Tong

    Walk to Kek Lok Tong. The cave temple offers calm views and a cleaner atmosphere than its neighbors. The monkeys here are used to visitors, but keep your snacks secure.

    Kek Lok Tong

    Watch the sun set toward the W. The golden light hits the limestone face just before the sun dips below the horizon, casting long shadows across the temple grounds.

Local tip

The walk from Kafe Lake View to Kek Lok Tong is short, but the terrain is hilly. Wear comfortable shoes. Taxi from Ipoh town should cost RM10 if you need a ride back.
