    The Roost

Grab a quick bite at The Roost. It is one of the few spots in town serving take-out like burgers or pizza. The food is filling and the backroom offers a place to sit if you prefer.

  2. 22:36

    Chief Jim Koe Park

Walk 24 minutes south-southeast from the mosque to Chief Jim Koe Park. This is the best vantage point for the sunset, which sets toward the WNW. Find a spot where you can see the horizon clearly.

  3. 22:51

    Chief Jim Koe Park

Watch the sun set at 22:51. The golden light begins around 21:31, so you will have ample time to settle in. The sky will turn a deep orange before the twilight lingers.

  4. 23:21

The Royal Canadian Legion 220: McInnes Branch

Head to The Royal Canadian Legion 220: McInnes Branch for a nightcap. It is a community hub where you can have a drink and chat with locals. The legion is open in the evenings and everyone is welcome.

Local tip

The sun sets toward the WNW on April 15. Chief Jim Koe Park is the closest viewing spot to the mosque, making it the most convenient base for this evening plan.

Check before you go
