Timeline

  1. 13:00

    Georgia Street Grind

Grab a coffee and a sweet treat at Georgia Street Grind. It opens at 08:00 on weekends and 07:00 on weekdays, so it is wide open and quiet this early. The café is a short walk from the park, making it a perfect, low-stress start to the afternoon.

  2. 13:30

See a baseball game at Victory Field

Head to Victory Field. This is the home of the Indianapolis Indians, the AAA minor league affiliate for the Pittsburgh Pirates. It has been deemed the best minor league baseball stadium in the country. The game starts in an hour, so you have time to find your seat. Pack a picnic if you like, and try to sit in the outfield next to the famous teepee. You might even catch a foul ball.

  3. 16:00

    White River State Park

After the game, take a short walk north to White River State Park. This large park is home to the Indianapolis Zoo, White River Gardens, the Eiteljorg Museum, the Indiana State Museum, and an IMAX Theater. It is a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy the green space that surrounds the stadium.

Local tip

Check the game schedule for start times. The stadium is open for games, but if you are just visiting the park, the area is accessible during daylight hours. Georgia Street Grind is closed on Sundays after 12:00, so verify your opening hours if you are visiting then.
