Best time: 15 OctoberAbout 90 min

Timeline

  1. 16:43

    IITA

Walk the trails through the IITA forest reserve. The canopy is thick, but the paths are clear. Arrive early to beat the heat and see the forest in its brightest light.

  2. 18:13

    IITA

Find a quiet spot near the edge of the reserve. The sun is low, casting long shadows through the trees as it prepares to set toward the WNW.

  3. 18:28

    IITA

Watch the sunset. The sky turns warm as the sun dips below the horizon. Stay for the last few minutes of light.

  4. 18:58

    IITA

The forest is now in twilight. Take a slow walk back to the main entrance as the air cools down.

Local tip

The reserve is large. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. No food or drink shops are located inside the reserve, so bring your own supplies or plan to eat after you leave.
