Timeline

  1. 17:00

    Kat Hing Wai

Walk through the crumbling gray brick wall of Kat Hing Wai. The Tang clan has lived here since the 12th century. Pay the $1 donation and look for the old Hakka women lounging nearby.

  2. 18:00

    Kat Hing Wai

Stand by the wall facing west. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting long shadows over the nondescript modern housing blocks behind the ancient brick.

  3. 18:20

    Kat Hing Wai

Head to the MTR Kam Sheung station area. Check the route for the nearest shop or cafe to unwind after the visit.

Local tip

The village is more historical than practical. The modern housing inside contrasts sharply with the old wall. Respect the $1 donation request.
