Walk from Waterworks Reserve to the falls. The 11-minute walk from the reserve puts you right at the historic water race just as the sun begins its final descent. The stone carvings catch the warm, low-angle light before the sky turns dark.
17:39
Stand at Gentle Annie Falls. Watch the golden light fade from the man-made water race carved into the rock. With no water flow, the texture of the stone is the main feature, highlighted perfectly by the setting sun toward the WNW.
18:09
Head to the Cascade Hotel. It is a 13-minute walk from the falls area. As an evening plan, this pub is open until 22:00 on weekdays, making it a reliable spot for a post-sunset drink. Check the route to get there.
Local tip
The falls have no water flow, so the experience is about the stone carving and the light. The Cascade Hotel is open late, so you have time to linger after the sunset.
