Start at Giác Lâm Pagoda. The grounds are quiet in the late afternoon. Wander past the 7-storey pagoda and the bodhi tree gifted from Sri Lanka in the 1950s. This is a calm place to settle in before the evening rush.
17:06
Find a spot on the temple steps or a shaded bench inside the grounds. The late afternoon light is soft and warm. There are no food shops listed immediately at the anchor, so check the route for a nearby cafe or street vendor to grab a quick drink or snack before the light changes. If you cannot find one, bring water.

Watch the sunset. On 15 October, the sun sets at 17:36 toward the W. From the main courtyard of Giác Lâm Pagoda, you will have a clear view of the western horizon as the sky turns gold and then orange. The ancient architecture frames the sky beautifully.
18:06
Stay for the afterglow. The light fades quickly, but the temple remains a peaceful place to reflect. As the sky darkens, the temple lights may come on. Take your time leaving the grounds.
