Grab a coffee at Kahvila Sävy. This small, retro-style café is a perfect pre-sunset warm-up. The space is tiny, so you might need to stand or share a seat, but the coffee from a Finnish roastery is worth it.

Walk 14 minutes to Sinisen huvilan kahvila. This outdoor café offers fantastic views over the Töölönlahti bay. It is the ideal spot to watch the sun dip below the horizon toward the SW. Note that this spot is open during summertime; if visiting in winter, check the route to see if it is accessible or use the nearby viewing areas.

Stay at the bay view as the sun sets. The light fades quickly in January, so use this moment to take in the last colors of the day.

Head to Kotiharjun sauna. This is the last wood-burning public sauna in Helsinki. After the cold evening air, the heat of the sauna and the subsequent cooling off outside will be invigorating. Remember to bring your own towel or pay the extra fee.
Local tip
Kotiharjun sauna is open Tue–Sun 14:00–20:00 (bathtime until 21:30). On Saturdays, it can get busy with bachelor parties, so arrive early if you prefer a quieter experience. The sauna is separate for men and women.
