Timeline
19:00
Grab a mojito at La Bodeguita del Medio. It is a historic hangout of Ernest Hemingway and gets busy with tourists from Varadero in the evening. Go early to secure a spot before the crowds arrive.
19:30
Walk to Parque Guayasamín. The park is a 7-minute walk from the bar. Find a spot in the open area that faces west. You are looking for the exact line where the sun sets directly behind the Monument to the Victims of the USS Maine.
20:00
Head to El Floridita Bar. It is a 13-minute walk from the park. This is another stop on the Hemingway drinking tour. The atmosphere is almost unchanged from pre-Castro days. Note that their daiquiris are mediocre, but the history is the main draw.
