Grab a daiquiri at El Floridita Bar. It is a historic stop on the Hemingway drinking tour with an atmosphere unchanged from pre-Castro days. Note that the daiquiris are considered mediocre, but the vibe is worth it for the pre-sunset wind-down.

Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta
Walk to Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta. This fortress sits at the entrance to the bay. Arrive before the light peaks to find a good vantage point.

Watch the sunset. On October 15, the sun sets toward the WSW around 19:03, with golden light starting at 18:33. The fortress provides a dramatic silhouette against the fading light over the water.

End the evening at Los Marinos, a seafood restaurant on a pier in the Havana harbour. The big terrace offers a pleasant breeze and a view of the city lights as the night settles in.
Local tip
The walk from the bar to the castle is short, but ensure you leave enough time to secure a spot at the fortress before the golden hour hits. Los Marinos is open until 23:00, so you have plenty of time to linger.
