Timeline
17:40
Grab a drink at the Waterloo Biergarten. It is a large, tree-surrounded beer garden that gets busy in summer, so arriving early helps secure a spot. Check that it is open daily from 11:00.
18:00
Walk north to see the Twins sculpture. This public art piece was created for the ECCLESIA and SYNAGOGA art competition and is just a short stroll from the biergarten.
18:20
Head to the City Park to watch the sunset. The sun sets directly behind the Waterloo Column from 18 October to 22 October. Find a quiet spot on the grass to relax with a book or just enjoy the view. The walk from the Twins takes about 50 minutes, so ensure you leave with enough time.
18:50
End your evening with dinner at Markthalle. This food court offers a variety of stalls, from Spanish tapas to Mett. Note that on weekdays it closes at 20:00, and on Saturdays it closes at 16:00, so check the specific day you are visiting.
Local tip
The City Park is a great place to escape the city centre on a nice sunny day. The alignment only works during specific windows in October and February, so plan ahead.
