Grab a specialty coffee at Mien Man Cafe. The multi-storey art-themed space is open early, and you can secure a table on the upper-floor balcony to overlook the cathedral before the street gets busy.
08:30
Walk to Hoàn Kiếm Lake. At this hour, the lakeside is peaceful. Watch locals practising tai chi in the morning light. It is the perfect quiet moment to sit and read or simply observe the daily rhythm of the city.
09:15
Head to Bun Cha Ta Hanoi for lunch. This highly recommended spot serves authentic North Vietnamese Bun Cha with great flavour. It is a cosy place that is open from 08:00, making it easy to fit in after your lake walk.
09:45
End your walk on The Huc Bridge. This footbridge connects the shore to the island temple within the lake. It offers a beautiful view of the water and the surrounding greenery, providing a serene finish to your morning.
Local tip
The park is free, but there is a 30,000 dong admission fee if you choose to enter the island temple. The lake area becomes a pedestrian-only zone on weekends, but it is also much more crowded then.
