Walk south for about 19 minutes to Pittsfield State Forest. This nature reserve provides a serene break in the forest canopy. Find a quiet spot along the trail to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings away from the main summit crowds.

Return to Pine Mountain for a final look at the landscape. The return walk gives you a chance to reflect on the morning hike. Since there are no food shops listed in the immediate vicinity, plan to grab lunch in Hancock town after your hike.
Local tip
