Timeline
15:15
Buy a coffee and a pastry at Genuss Speicher. The café is in the ground floor, with a coffee museum in the basement if you have time to explore.
15:45
Walk to the Elbphilharmonie Plaza. You need a free ticket to prevent overcrowding, so head to the ticket office or use the online system if you haven't already. The Plaza is open until 24:00.
16:15
Find your spot on the Plaza observation deck. The glass façade and wave-shaped roof frame the view perfectly. Arrive early to secure a good angle for the sunset.
16:30
Watch the sun set toward the SW. The golden light from 15:28 will have already bathed the warehouse district in warm tones, but the actual sunset at 16:30 offers the final dramatic shift in color over the harbor.
17:15
End your evening with a drink or dinner at Strickers Kehr Wieder Spitze. This fish restaurant is just a 3-minute walk from the anchor, offering fresh regional cuisine and a view of the Elbphilharmonie and harbor.
Local tip
The Plaza is free but requires a ticket. Check the route if you are coming from Landungsbrücken via ferry 72, or walk through the Speicherstadt and HafenCity.
