Grab a coffee and a slice of cake at Cafė Olė. This spot is ideal for a quiet start before the afternoon crowds arrive. The café offers a rich menu and mostly organic wines, but for a quick bite, the bread and coffee takeaway option is perfect.

Walk 136 steps to the roof of Dockland. This six-storey glass and steel building, shaped like a ship's bow, offers a wonderful view of the harbour. You will be positioned to see the massive container ports lining the southern bank of the river Elbe as the golden light hits them.
15:58
Stroll down to Heine-Park. It is a short walk from the viewing spot and provides a peaceful green space to digest your coffee and enjoy the lingering light over the water.
Local tip
Dockland is a six-storey building. The walk up is worth it for the unobstructed view of the port. If you prefer a seat with a view rather than a roof climb, Fischereihafen-Restaurant is only a 3-minute walk from Dockland and offers excellent views of the port and river, though it is busier during dinner hours.
