Timeline

  1. 17:44

    The Halifax Alehouse

Grab a pint at The Halifax Alehouse. It is a traditional pub with a lively atmosphere, and live music usually starts at midnight, so you will have the place to yourself for a bit.

  2. 17:59

    Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

Walk 8 minutes south to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Use the time to browse the lobby or the local artist exhibits. The gallery is open until 17:00 on Tuesdays, but on a Saturday it closes at 17:00 too. Since it is October 15, 2026, which is a Thursday, the gallery is open until 21:00. You can go inside to escape the chill and see the Maud Lewis collection while the light is still good outside.

  3. 18:29

    Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

Step out the front door and look west-southwest. The sun is setting toward the WSW, casting that golden light over the harbour entrance. This is the moment the sky turns warm and the harbour lights begin to twinkle.

  4. 18:49

    The Old Triangle

Walk just 1 minute to The Old Triangle. It is a set of three connected pubs with a split-level staircase. The lower level often has traditional Irish or Scottish music starting at 8 PM, making it the perfect place to warm up and listen to the ballads as the night settles in.

Local tip

The Old Triangle's lower level is where the music happens. If you prefer a quieter drink, stay on the upper levels.
