Timeline

  1. 08:30

    Daishō-in

Begin at Daishō-in. Arrive right when it opens at 08:30 to enjoy the strikingly calm atmosphere before the crowds arrive. Explore the graves of the Mori warlords and their retainers in peace.

  2. 09:15

    Grill Restaurant Kenran

Head to Grill Restaurant Kenran for lunch. This is the perfect time to sit down and enjoy Kenran Beef, served as steak or yakiniku. The restaurant is open from 17:00, but they offer lunch by reservation from 11:30 to 14:00. Since you are arriving at 08:30, you will need to call ahead to secure a lunch reservation, or simply enjoy the atmosphere and perhaps visit the adjacent Midoriya Honten to buy meat to take home if they are open for their evening service later. For a true daytime lunch experience as planned, ensure you have a reservation.

  3. 10:15

    Kodama Residence Garden

Walk to the Kodama Residence Garden. This former home of a high-ranking samurai features a beautiful garden and a private docking port on the Hashimoto River. It is a short walk from the previous stop and offers a quiet reflection on the local history.
