Timeline
09:30
Start with a light breakfast or snack. Pyeongyang Naengmyeon opens at 09:30, making it the perfect early stop for traditional Korean noodles or bulgogi in a quiet backyard setting.
10:15
Hwangnam Gyeongju Ten-Won Bread
Walk just three minutes to pick up Hwangnam Gyeongju Ten-Won Bread. These viral cheese-filled pastries shaped like 10-won coins are a Gyeongju staple and easy to carry while exploring.
10:30
Head to Poseokjeong. This is the site where Silla kings held ceremonies. Walk the narrow 22-meter passage called yusanggoksuyeon, built for the goksugeo game where players recited poems as a glass ball rolled down.
11:00
For lunch, head to Hyanghwa-jeong near Tumuli Park. Specialize in Gyeongju-style cockle bibimbap (Kkomak-bibimbap) and Yukhoe-mulhoe. The portions are generous and the taste is traditional, served in a modern Hanok setting.
12:00
End your afternoon at Oreung Tomb's Park. It features five burial mounds with different theories about who is buried here, including the founder of the Silla Kingdom, Park Hyeokgeose. It is a quiet place to reflect on the history you just walked through.
Local tip
Poseokjeong is best visited early to avoid the midday heat and crowds. The passage is narrow, so take your time walking through it.
