Eat at 옛고을토속순두부. Order the soft tofu stew while the light is still bright enough to see the details of the meal. The restaurant is open from 11:00 to 21:00, so this timing works perfectly.

Walk to Hwangnyongsa Temple Site. The sun is low and the golden light is starting to hit the ruins. Take a moment to look at the scale of the original nine-level pagoda in your mind, knowing the site is free to enter.

Hwangnyongsa History and Culture Center
Head to the Hwangnyongsa History and Culture Center just 3 minutes away. As the sun sets toward the WSW, enter the center to see the 1/10 scale model of the pagoda and watch the 3D theater presentation. It is a quiet place to reflect on the history as darkness falls.
Local tip
The temple site closes at 18:00 in winter, but the Culture Center is open later. Check the route if you need to return to the main area after dark.
