Timeline

  1. 16:52

    Cafe Veranda

Grab a coffee or a light bite at Cafe Veranda. The buffet is excellent, but for a quick sunset prep, a coffee and a pastry will do. It opens early, so you have plenty of time.

  2. 17:07

    Yuexiu Park

Walk from the cafe into Yuexiu Park. Head towards the Ancient City Wall. It is a short, pleasant 5-minute stroll from the park entrance area where you will likely emerge.

  3. 17:47

    Ancient City Wall

Find your spot on the 1-kilometer section of the Ming Dynasty city wall. Face west. The wall offers an unobstructed view of the sky. Arrive 15 minutes before the sun touches the horizon to let the golden light begin.

  4. 18:32

    Yuexiu Park

After the sun sets, wander back through Yuexiu Park. The park remains open until 18:00, so you have time to walk off the meal and enjoy the twilight ambiance before the gates close.
