Walk up to Mina de Valenciana. The richest mine in Guanajuato is still in operation today and supplied enough silver to sponsor the Spanish Empire. You will have the valley to yourself before the crowds arrive.
17:24
Head down to Truco 7. It is a five minute walk from the Museo Casa Diego Rivera area where you will likely be heading. Order an aguas fresca with cinnamon in it and some enchiladas. The kitchen is open until 23:00 so you have plenty of time to eat while the sky turns dark.
18:14
Find your spot at Museo Casa Diego Rivera. This is the birthplace of Diego Rivera and a well-preserved traditional Mexican residence. Stand in the open areas to watch the sun set toward the WSW. The walk from your dinner spot is short enough that you can arrive just in time for the final rays of light.
19:09
End the night at Famoso Bar Incendio. One of the oldest bars in Guanajuato it is a typical Mexican cantina famous for its mezcales. The atmosphere is lively and it is open until 23:00 on weekdays or 23:00 on weekends. It is a seven minute walk from the museum area.
Local tip
