Timeline

  1. 17:33

    Parque Público

Walk to Parque Público. It is the closest viewing spot to the anchor, just a short 29-minute stroll away. Use this time to find a comfortable spot on the edge of the gorge and watch the afternoon light begin to shift.

  2. 18:33

    Parque Público

Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, offering a clear view down into the forested gorge of the Río Lerma-Santiago. Stay for the golden light that lasts until the sun dips below the horizon.

  3. 19:03

    Plaza de Huentitán El Alto

Head to Plaza de Huentitán El Alto. This park is a short 31-minute walk from your viewing spot. It is a good place to stretch your legs and let the evening cool down as you move away from the canyon edge.

  4. 19:33

    Plaza de Huentitán El Alto

Spend time at the plaza. With the sun down, this open space is a calm place to end the walk. Check for any local vendors or small shops that might be open for a late evening drink or snack, though options are limited in this area.

Local tip

Buses #62A and #62D run along Calzada Independencia to reach the canyon area. If you need to return to the city center, check the route for evening service. The walk between the viewing spot and the final plaza is short but involves some elevation changes typical of the gorge area.
