Timeline
15:30
Start at De Pintelier, a traditional Belgian pub with over 80 kinds of beer. It is open daily from 15:00, so you can settle in well before the sun goes down. The square in front is shared with the restaurant De Uurwerker, which is also open at this time if you prefer a meal.
16:00
Walk to Dot. This former 3D theatre is now a cultural center and restaurant. Arrive here as the golden light begins (around 15:44 on Jan 15) to secure a good spot. The building’s unique shape frames the sky beautifully.
16:45
Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the SW at 16:45. Dot is located near the city beach, offering an unobstructed view of the horizon. If it is winter, the building may be decorated with thousands of lights, adding to the atmosphere.
17:15
End your evening at Dot. The restaurant is open until 22:00 on weekdays and 23:00 on weekends. Stay for a drink or dinner to enjoy the transition from twilight to night.
Local tip
De Pintelier is crowded on warm nights, so arriving early ensures you get a seat. The walk from the pub to Dot is short, but allow time to find your spot near the water's edge for the best sunset view.
