Timeline
16:30
Grab a lassi and a vegetarian snack at Guru's Kitchen. The yogurt drink is made with rose water and pairs well with the cool evening air.
16:50
Walk to the Museum of the West. Enter the underground uranium mine exhibit while the natural light is still bright enough to see the details of the miner's workspace and artifacts.
17:15
Step outside for the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting a warm glow on the Navajo art and rugs displayed in the outdoor areas.
17:45
End the evening with a drink or bite at Bin 707 Foodbar. The local produce and meats make for a perfect post-sunset wind-down.
Local tip
The museum is open until 17:00 in the summer months. If you arrive after sunset, the exterior lighting will highlight the architecture, but the underground mine may be closed. Check the route for the walk from Guru's Kitchen to the museum.
