Start with spiced tea and yogurt dips at this Persian cafe. The large bowls are perfect for sharing as you plan the walk. The breakfast menu offers traditional German options if you prefer something savory.

Walk southwest to the Marktplatz. Stand before the Gänseliesel fountain outside the Altes Rathaus. This is the most famous figure in Göttingen, known as the 'most kissed girl in the world' because every local student who receives a Ph.D. kisses her.
16:39
Head north back toward the Theater im OP (ThOP). Arrive just as the golden light hits the building. The theater is run by university students and performs in a former operating theatre. Check the schedule for an English play from the English Drama Workshop.

End your evening in the cavernous atmosphere of Trou. This student pub was once a kind of student jail. It is the place to go if you want a more German experience and a drink as the night settles in.
Local tip
The walk from the Gänseliesel to the ThOP is short and direct. Trou opens at 19:30, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the sunset at the theater before heading there.
