Timeline

  1. 10:00

    World of Volvo

Arrive at the World of Volvo right when it opens. Spend the first hour exploring the exhibition centre. Look for the visualisations of the brand’s history and try operating the scale excavator if it is running. The former museum in Arendal Skans is closed, so this is the only place to see the full range of cars and trucks.

  2. 11:30

    Café Näckrosen

Walk fifteen minutes from the museum to Café Näckrosen. This is the perfect spot for a mid-morning break. The café is open until 16:00 on weekdays, giving you plenty of time to sit back and enjoy a coffee without rushing. It is a calm place to rest before heading toward the botanical gardens.

  3. 12:10

    Botanical Gardens

Walk thirty minutes from the café to the Botanical Gardens. This 175-hectare site was selected as the most beautiful garden in Sweden in 2003. Wander through the rock garden and the arboretum. The greenhouses offer a sheltered space to view exotic plants regardless of the weather.

  4. 13:10

    Botaniska Paviljongen

End your visit at Botaniska Paviljongen, located just six minutes from the gardens. It is a café inside the grounds where you can finish your day with a final drink or a light snack. Check the seasonal opening hours, as they vary by month, but it is generally open during the day.
