Walk 10 minutes ESE to the Botanical Gardens. Enter the grounds and head south toward the Victoria Lilies. This is Guyana's national flower and they bloom in the late afternoon light.

Stand among the lilies as the sun sets toward the WSW. The golden light hits the garden just before the sun dips below the horizon.
18:15
Walk 10 minutes WNW back to the Guyana Zoo. It is inside the Botanical Gardens, so you are already there. Spend the rest of the evening watching the parakeets and toucans settle in for the night.
Local tip
The zoo is small and the cages are basic. Use it as a final stop to see the animals in a relaxed way after your garden walk.
