Timeline

  1. 18:48

    Pointe-à-la-Renommée Lighthouse

Arrive at the lighthouse grounds early. The site is open from 9AM to 5PM in the summer, so you have plenty of time to explore the exhibits and take in the history of the 1907 structure before the light fades.

  2. 19:48

    Pointe-à-la-Renommée Lighthouse

Find a quiet spot on the grounds or nearby rocks. As the golden light begins around 19:29, the white tower and surrounding cliffs will glow warmly. The sun sets toward the NW, offering a clear view of the sky changing colors over the water.

  3. 20:18

    Pointe-à-la-Renommée Lighthouse

Watch the sun dip below the horizon at 20:18. This is the peak moment for photography and quiet reflection. The decommissioned lighthouse stands silhouetted against the twilight sky.

  4. 20:48

    Pointe-à-la-Renommée Lighthouse

Stay for the blue hour. The transition from sunset to darkness is gradual in July. Use this time to review your photos or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as the lighthouse lights may begin to twinkle.
