Timeline
09:00
Walk through the grounds of Galway Cathedral. The site was once a prison, and the building’s mix of Renaissance and Romanesque styles creates a striking, solemn atmosphere. It is best visited early to appreciate the quiet before the day’s crowds arrive.

Head to McCambridges, a short walk away. The downstairs deli offers excellent take-away sandwiches if you prefer a lighter snack, while the upstairs cafe serves good sit-down meals. It is a reliable spot for a relaxed break.

Stop at Plámás for a simple coffee. Known for its friendly atmosphere, you can even get a discount if you order in Irish (Gaeilge). It is a small, simple place that provides a gentle pause in the middle of your walk.
10:10
Walk to Eyre Square. This public park is located within the city centre, adjoining the shopping areas of William Street and Shop Street. It is a good place to sit and watch the city life pass by, just a short walk from your previous stops.
