Grab a seat at the counter of this functional smokehouse and café. The ovens fire up at 11:00 in summer, so the air is already thick with the scent of hickory and sea salt. Order a plate of their signature smoked fish or a warm beverage to hold while you walk.

Walk southeast from the town center toward Klinten Strand. The beach offers two wooden walkways leading down to the sand. Find a spot on the walkway or the sand itself. The sun sets toward the WSW, offering a clear view of the light fading over the water.

Head back toward the center for dinner. This pub and restaurant sits in one of Faaborg's oldest buildings, erected in 1686. It has been a culinary hub since 1785 and often features live music. The atmosphere is warm and historic, perfect for settling in after the chill of the evening wind.

End the night with a drink at this pub open since 1974. You cannot miss it: a giant pen hangs above the door. It is easy to find and offers a relaxed space to finish your evening with a drink and perhaps a game of billiards.
Local tip
Check the opening hours for your specific day. The smokehouse closes at 17:00 daily, so if you arrive later than 45 minutes before sunset, you may miss the fresh food service. The restaurant stays open until 22:00, and the final pub closes at 19:00, so plan your drink stop early if you want to stay inside.
