Timeline
15:42
Grab a coffee and a pastry at Malu's Deli. It is just a two-minute walk from the Marina Beach area and opens early enough to catch the pre-sunset rush.
16:27
Walk 11 minutes southeast to Element Watersports & Beach. This is the spot right next to Kitepower El Gouna. Find a spot on the wind-protected patio with sun chairs. The shallow lagoon in front of the centre keeps standing-depth water even at low tide, making it a calm and safe place to watch the day end.
17:12
Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light starts about 34 minutes before, so you have been in position for a while. The kite school is open daily until sunset, so you will see the instructors wrapping up their last sessions of the day against the bright sky.
17:57
After the light fades, head back to the Marina Beach area for dinner. Walk two minutes to Le Garage. This burger restaurant is open until midnight, offering a relaxed end to the evening with Swiss-style burgers.
Local tip
Check the live wind station on the Kitepower website before you go. If the wind is too strong, the lagoon might be choppy, but the view from the patio remains excellent.
