El Cuyo Late Morning: Coffee, Kayaks, and Sea Breezes

Start your El Cuyo day with a quiet coffee, then trade the pavement for the water before the heat peaks.

Best time: noneAbout 120 min

Timeline

  1. 08:00

    Anahata Café & Bistro

Grab a strong espresso or a flavored cold brew at Anahatá Café & Bistro. It is the best shot of Java in town and opens early enough to beat the crowds.

  2. 08:20

    Kayaking El Cuyo

Walk over to Kayaking El Cuyo. Rent a sit-on-top kayak for the lagoon side to enjoy the calm, shallow waters. They also have sea kayaks if you prefer the Gulf, but the lagoon is perfect for a relaxed morning paddle.

  3. 09:10

    Casa Mangle

Head to Casa Mangle for lunch. The vibe is super chill and laid-back. Grab a table on the open patio or under the trees in the garden where you can kick off your shoes and dig your toes into the sand. Order their seafood specialties.

Local tip

The lagoon side kayaks are best for beginners. If you want to try the Gulf side, ask for a sit-on kayak there instead.
