    Scran and Scallie

Head to Scran and Scallie for dinner. This upmarket gastropub serves modern Scots cuisine with slick service. It is open from noon, so you will have plenty of time to settle in before it gets dark. The food is reliable and the atmosphere is warm.

Finish the evening with a drink at The Cumberland Bar. This traditional pub is a local favourite known for its literary connections and lively crowd. It stays open late, making it the perfect spot to stay a while after dinner as the night fully sets in.
