Timeline
16:19
Arrive at Mushrif Park. The park opens at 08:00, so you have plenty of time to enter before the afternoon heat peaks. Walk the perimeter trails to find a quiet spot with a view of the western horizon.
17:19
Settle in for the golden hour. The sun sets toward the WSW in January, making this a prime time for photography and soaking in the desert atmosphere as the light turns soft and warm.
17:49
Watch the sunset. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky shifts through orange and pink hues. The park remains open until 23:00, so there is no rush to leave immediately.
18:34
Head to the exit. With the sun gone, the temperature drops significantly. Check the route for the best way out toward the nearby dining districts.
19:19
Find a nearby spot for dinner and a drink. Since the park itself does not have listed food and drink shops, you will need to check the route to a local restaurant or cafe in the Khawaneej area or closer to the city center for your evening meal.
Local tip
The park is huge (1300 acres). Use the car entrance fee to access the main roads, but be prepared for a short walk from your parking spot to your chosen viewing area.
