Timeline

  1. 15:11

    Cafe Toscana

Start with a sweet treat at Cafe Toscana. Their famous cakes are the perfect fuel before the climb. The café is open daily, so you can grab a slice and a coffee while you plan your route.

  2. 15:26

    Schwebebahn Dresden

Take bus 61, 63 or 84 to Körnerplatz. From there, ride the Schwebebahn Dresden up the hill. This historic suspension railway connects the low-lying Loschwitz district with the heights of Oberloschwitz, giving you a gentle introduction to the view.

  3. 16:06

    Waldpark Blasewitz

Walk 28 minutes west from the top station to Waldpark Blasewitz. Arrive here just as the sun begins its final descent. The park offers an unobstructed view toward the WSW, perfectly framing the sunset over the Elbe valley.

  4. 16:41

    SchillerGarten

Head down to SchillerGarten for dinner. It is a local favorite for German cuisine, including an excellent schnitzel. Reservations are recommended, but the lively atmosphere means you will feel right at home even if you pop in without one. The summer garden is particularly pleasant as the evening cools.

  5. 17:26

    Elbegarten Demnitz

End the night at Elbegarten Demnitz. This large beer garden sits just south of the Blaues Wunder bridge with fantastic views over the Elbe river. It is a great spot to linger with a drink after dark, often featuring live music.

Local tip

The walk from the Schwebebahn top station to Waldpark Blasewitz is short but steep. Wear comfortable shoes. For dinner, SchillerGarten fills up quickly, so booking ahead is wise.
