Timeline
15:50
Grab a pastry or shawarma at Ankara Pastry Restaurant. It is popular with Turkish expats for good reason. Finish eating before the light starts to change.
16:35
Walk to the Ministry of Interior building. This massive, fort-like structure is usually only seen from the road, so take a moment to observe its sinister architecture up close.
17:05
Head to Hitmi Park. It sits to the west-southwest of the Ministry building, offering a clear line of sight to the sun sinking behind the structure. The view is best as the sky darkens.
17:50
End the evening at Al Mourjan near Al Bidda Park. Enjoy some Lebanese dishes and take in some of the best city views in Doha as the lights come on.
Local tip
The Ministry of Interior is a private facility. Respect the perimeter and do not attempt to enter. The best views are from the public parks surrounding it.
