Timeline
15:34
Stop at Little Darley in the Park for a pint or a soft drink. It is a pub open from 12:00, so it is ready for you well before the sun goes down.
15:59
Walk up the Derwent path into Darley Park. This 9-minute walk from the anchor point leads you to the riverbank where the light is best.
16:19
Watch the sun set toward the SW. The golden light starts around 15:18, but the main event is the sunset at 16:19. The park offers an unobstructed view along the river.
16:49
End the walk at the Darley Park Terrace Cafe. It is located just north of the park anchor and is a convenient spot to warm up or have a final bite after the chill of the riverbank.
Local tip
The walk up the Derwent is gentle and flat. If it is cold, the terrace cafe is a sheltered place to finish.
