Timeline

  1. 15:19

    Hearth

Grab an artisan sourdough pastry and a coffee at Hearth. It opens at 07:00, so you will have plenty of time to eat and settle in before the rush.

  2. 16:19

    Colorado State Capitol

Walk south to the Colorado State Capitol. Find the spot where "One Mile Above Sea Level" is engraved. Stand there as the sun dips low in the WSW, casting long shadows and golden light across the domed building.

  3. 17:19

    Mercury Cafe

Head to Mercury Cafe for the evening. It opens at 17:00. If you are there on a Sunday, you will catch Denver's best poetry slam. If it is another night, enjoy the live music or salsa classes.

Local tip

The Capitol view is best when the sun is low in the west. Mercury Cafe is a popular spot, so arrive early for the Sunday slam to secure a seat.
