Timeline
16:15
Grab a chai at Aap ki Pasand. It is located in an old colonial building and is a calm place to settle in before the crowds arrive. The tea shop is just a short walk from the Gurudwara.
17:15
Walk to Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib. Arrive early to find a quiet spot. The shrine is built on the spot where Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded. The preserved trunk of the tree and the well are key features. The sun will be setting toward the WSW, casting a warm light on the structure.
17:45
Watch the sunset. The light hits the shrine as the day ends. The Sikh regiment salutes this site, adding a layer of solemn respect to the moment. The fading light highlights the history of the place.
18:45
End the evening with a meal at Kake Di Hatti. It is open late until 01:00, making it perfect for after sunset. Order the large naans and North Indian curries like Dal Makhani. One naan is usually enough for two people.
Local tip
The walk from Aap ki Pasand to the Gurudwara is short. The area around Chandni Chowk is very crowded, so keep your belongings close. Kake Di Hatti is open late, so you can dine comfortably after the sun goes down.
