Timeline

  1. 09:00

    The Forest Research Institute Museums

Arrive at the Forest Research Institute Museums right when they open at 09:00. The vast grounds are quietest in the morning, allowing you to appreciate the lavish architecture and expansive compound before the midday rush. Museum entry is ₹25 for the six halls, though photography is only permitted in the compound.

  2. 10:30

    Botanical Garden

Walk 7 minutes southeast to the Botanical Garden. This is the perfect spot for a quiet break in the shade. The garden offers a peaceful contrast to the grand museum buildings and is well-suited for a morning stroll or a light snack if you brought one.

  3. 11:30

    The Forest Research Institute Museums

Return to the Institute for the afternoon session starting at 14:30. If you skipped the museum halls earlier, this is your chance to explore the six halls with a guided tour. The admission is free for the institute grounds, and the late afternoon light filters beautifully through the trees.

Local tip

The museum halls do not allow photography, but the compound is excellent for photos. Keep your camera ready outside.
